Executive Director of Amigxs del M.A.R.

Born in Loíza, Puerto Rico, Vanessa holds an interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with emphasis in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management and Administration from the University of Puerto Rico. She is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law.

Vanessa is the Executive Director of Amigxs del M.A.R., an environmental organization that promotes environmental and climate justice from the radical transformation of the economic system and the eradication of the colonial policies of the countries of the global north, with which she has worked for 10 years. She has worked in multiple social projects and non-profit organizations as an artist and/or coordinator.

She has excelled in environmental movements, as a popular educator in human rights and in the rescue of urban spaces through the creation of cultural spaces.
